THE "LOST" SORCERER THEME

The film's most famous
element is it's electric soundtrack by
Tangerine
Dream.
It was their first, and they went on to become one
of the most celebrated
and in-demand soundtrack artists of all time.
But there was one theme
in the film that was not released as
part of the soundtrack,
and the ironic part is, it is probably
the most hypnotic
and surreal theme in the entire film.
As it turns out,
Tangerine
Dream didnt perform it.
The theme comes from a
double-lp set released in the mid 70s
by jazz keyboardist Keith
Jarrett. It was called HYMNS
/ SPHERES.

It is the second half
of the selection "Spheres 3rd Movement"
that was used by
Friedkin.
The entire selection runs over 10 minutes,
so I have created an
MP3 of the half of it that was used in the film.
It strikes me as an eerie
approximation of a set of
bagpipes, with a stunning
almost OM chant quality.
IT'S AN
INCREDIBLE PIECE OF
"LOST"
FILM SOUNDTRACK HISTORY!
